Brewing Hope Heads West!

We are really looking forward to our event in Denver on April 17th.  I think we have some really cool bars participating and can’t wait to get back out there.    Until we started organizing our event in Denver I had really never seen more than the airport.  I was excited to finally have a chance to check out this awesome city.   It was a bit chilly compared to our hometown of Austin, but it was fun to get out our winter gear for this trip.  We spent our first night going around to the bars to check in and talk to the owners about the event.

It was a Thursday night so things were really bumpin.  The Ginn Mill especially….we could hardly get in the door with everyone dancing.  We also stopped at Scruffy Murphys and had a drink.  That place is pretty cool and the bartender was super nice.  While we were there we stopped at Lodo’s and got them involved in the pub crawl.  Not only will they be participating, but we are hoping to do some sort of afterparty there after the event.  Once we finished up with the bars we got to spend some time wakling around downtown Denver.  What a cool place.  We walked through 16th street mall and had an excellent dinner before heading to bed.

The next day we got up and headed back downtown to do some advertising.  It was such a beautiful day….nice 60 degree day and not a cloud in the sky.  Everyone we came across was so nice and very helpful.  We had so much fun walking around and checking things out.  Once we were finished we had to make one final stop at Breckenridge Brewery for my husband.   We enjoyed a pint or two and then it was off to our next city.

We are really hoping to make Denver a successful event.  We had so much fun there and can only imagine how much fun the event will be.  Hope to see you all there.

Brewing Hope On The Go…

Thursday, March 11, 2010 8:38 No Comments

I have to admit, working for Brewing Hope is a pretty sweet job…..  My husband and I are fortunate enough that we can make a living through our personal businesses working from home that it has allowed us to have the time to start our charity, Brewing Hope.  Because we can both work anytime, anywhere we are able to do a lot of the traveling it takes to be all over the country hosting charity events and raising money for Multiple Sclerosis.  I wanted to start this blog to share with everyone stories about not only our travels to different citys but about cool bar owners we meet along the way, or awesome pubs we stumble upon and also to get feedback from our readers about places we may have missed in certain cities or suggestions for good areas to have events.   We currently have about 15 pub crawls planned for 2010 which means a lot of bouncing around for us each month.  While sometimes we really miss the comfort of our own bed, we love what we do and love meeting new people and seeing new areas.   Hope you enjoy, and remember we welcome any feedback and suggestions.  While we try to get a good feel for each town we visit, no one knows better than the people that actually live and drink there.
